É melhor as emissoras de TV convencionais acordarem, pois o futuro já está acontecendo.
Um quinto dos norte-americanos que assiste TV estão deixando de lado seus controles remotos e clicando um mouse em seu lugar para assistir programas do horário nobre, em especial mulheres que trabalham, segundo uma pesquisa, pois chegam em casa e podem escolher exatamente os programas que querem, na hora que escolherem. E ainda assim podem acessar blogs e sites simultaneamente, não perdendo um segundo de tempo.
O estudo mostrou que 50 por cento das pessoas que assistem TV pela Web optam por essa via para ver programas assim que eles se tornam disponÃveis e “demonstram estar começando a usar o computador como um substituto de seus aparelhos de TV”, disse a Integrated Media Measurement Inc. (IMMI), que conduziu o estudo.
A outra metade usa a Internet para assistir programas que eles tenham perdido na TV ou para assistir de novo programas e episódios que eles já tenham visto, segundo a IMMI.
“Este é o primeiro estudo que mostra que há uma quantia significativa de pessoas assistindo programas no horário nobre pela Internet e que não estão assistindo parte desses programas pela televisão”, disse Amanda Welsh, chefe de pesquisas da IMMI, em um comunicado.
O estudo mostra que o maior grupo de pessoas que assistem TV pela Internet é formada por mulheres brancas, de alto poder aquisitivo, de nÃvel escolar elevado e que trabalham, da faixa etária de 25 a 44 anos.
A IMMI disse que as mulheres estão mais ocupadas com seus empregos e vida pessoal e não têm mais tempo para ficar presas à grade de programação das TVs. Por isso, elas apelam aos episódios online para ver os programas que perderam.
Foram pesquisadas 3 mil pessoas em Nova York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Houston e Denver para a pesquisa, que tiveram sua navegação na Internt monitorada por um software instalado pela IMMI.
